What is an ADN/RN?

An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is a two-year degree program. and it is often completed through a technical school or community college, too. This program will give you the skills and knowledge you need to become a registered nurse. All states call for RNs to hold at least an associate degree. So, earning this credential is an essential step in your journey to becoming a nurse.

An ADN/RN is an Associate Degree in Nursing Registered Nurse. Our program can be completed in as little as 16 months, making it both comprehensive and flexible.

Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll be prepared to sit for and pass the NCLEX-RN exam. The NCLEX-RN is a necessary step in becoming a registered nurse.

You’ll also spend time gaining experience with patients in different clinical settings. Our knowledgeable instructors have years of experience working in the field. They’ll be there to help you every step of the way.

What’s required for an ADN/RN?

Your state board of nursing establishes the minimum education requirements for registered nurses, which is a professional growing faster than usual.

The curriculum for ADN programs varies by school. It includes about 70 credits. This prepares you for entry-level nursing and for qualifying for an RN license in your state. The Associate of Science in Nursing degree includes both classroom and clinical hours.

An ADN program can usually completed in two years if you attend full time. But, many students attend part time while working at another job or caring for their family. The length of these programs can vary from school to school. They base it on factors including whether it’s a traditional daytime program or offered at night. Or even on weekends or in person or online.

What happens after completing ADN program?

After completing your ADN, you can prepare to apply for an RN license in the state where you plan to work. Check your state board of nursing website for requirements and fees. You may need to provide proof of your ADN and clinical hours. Other requirements such as CPR certification, fingerprinting, and background checks.

You’ll have to pass the National Council Licensure Examination-RN (NCLEX-RN) before a state will grant you a license.

You’ll take the six-hour test on a computer at a designated test site. The exam is called a “variable-length adaptive test.” Your number of correct and incorrect answers will partly determine how long the test is. You’ll answer 75 to 265 multiple-choice questions.

You’ll either pass or fail the test; the grade is not on a specific number of questions or given a percentage. For example, if you answer easy questions right away but struggle with harder questions later in the test, then you may only have to answer 75 questions. How do I apply for your professional nursing program?

To apply to SABER College’s Registered Nursing program, you must do the following:

• Applicant must submit a High School Diploma (or equivalent in their country of origin) or GED.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• The Kaplan (65) is one of SABER’s College official entrance exams.  Applicants may gain acceptance into the nursing program based upon entrance test scores.
• Applicant must also submit official school transcript. Must document any previous work in the United States. Must have with a minimum GPA of 2.0 (C) for each course. This applies for requesting credit for general education courses taken at the associate degree level or higher. A student whose scores are below a 2.0 must take the course at SABER. SABER will only waive general education courses that have the same academic content offered.
• Applicant must complete a personal oral and written interview. The interviewer must recommend applicant for admission.
• Student Orientation – Orientation of new students is conducted for each academic start. New students will learn about SABER College, including procedures, rules and regulations. Students will receive their program schedule. They will get acquainted with the school facilities on the first day of class. Catalogs and Handbooks will also be provided one week prior to the beginning of class.
• For Students who are 16-17 years old, parent or guardian approval is required for enrollment.

How do I apply for your professional nursing program, continued:

• SABER College designates a trained individual to provide each of the following student services:

– academic advisement: provides information to new and continuing students. The students also learn about SABER College services and academic educational and career goals. The department also provides information to transfer students. Also, it guides students toward an academic pathway. It helps students determine their eligibility to graduate

– financial aid advisement: provides information to new and continuing students. The students learn about about SABER College financial services. This includes loans, grants and methods of payment.

– personal advisement: refers to an appropriate professional who can provides information to students. They can help and guide students in resolving personal and social problems. They may refer students to community services as needed.

– placement services: Placement services shall be provided to all graduates without charge. No guarantee of placement shall be implied. Records of initial employment of all graduates shall be maintained.

• The extent of these services and the personnel assigned to our students shall be determined by the size of our institution.
• Applicant must also submit one letter of recommendation. Letter must have contact information of person writing recommendation. Information to include name, signature, phone number and address.
• Applicant must also undergo a background check.
• Must meet physical strength and function requirements as required.
• Applicant must also submit proof of CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• And must meet personal health requirements based on the SABER Physical Health Form.
