The PNP is 82 credit hours, or 1,875 clock hours of theory, labs, and practical clinicals.

You can be assured that you are receiving a quality education in nursing. Saber College and the Professional Nursing Program is fully accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and licensed by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE).

So, what can you expect when you become a nurse at SABER College?

General Education Courses

Colleges offer a well-rounded education that gives you the professional skills you need in any career. The PNP provides courses in writing communications, mathematics, and the sciences.

These general education courses give you the foundational skills you need to use in a medical setting. Nurses use computers to record patient information and write notes about patient care. Nurses also need to use mathematics to measure prescriptions in the correct way or perform other duties.

General education courses form the base knowledge that you will need to become a successful nurse.

Core Nursing Courses

Following the general education courses, you will take core nursing courses. The Fundamentals of Nursing (6 credit hours) and Fundamentals of Nursing – Clinical Practicum (5 credit hours) are intense but build your knowledge and skills in the nursing field.

Additionally, you will take Nursing Pharmacology, Psychiatric Nursing, Ethics and Law in Health Care, Obstetrics and Pediatrics, and Nursing Trends and Issues. These courses are each 3 credit hours.

You will also get a solid understanding of medical surgery nursing through the Medical-Surgical Nursing (4 credit hours), Medical-Surgical Nursing – Clinical Practicum (3 credit hours), Medical-Surgical Nursing II (3 credit hours), and Medical-Surgical Nursing II – Clinical Practicum (3 credit hours).

The core nursing courses cover different aspects of nursing and different life stages of the patients you will be helping. Many of the courses include a clinical component for hands-on experience in the field.
