SABER College Inducted into the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society
A shared milestone honoring excellence, character, and leadership across the SABER community
We are proud to announce that SABER College has been officially inducted into the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society, earning the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Florida. The charter, issued on September 25, 2025, represents a significant academic milestone and a moment of pride shared by students, faculty, staff, and the broader SABER community.
Alpha Beta Kappa is one of the nation’s most respected honor societies for postsecondary institutions. Its recognition is granted only to colleges that demonstrate sustained academic excellence, strong ethical values, and a clear commitment to leadership and service. SABER College’s induction places the institution among a select group nationwide recognized for meeting these high standards.
This achievement reflects the collective effort behind SABER College. It belongs to students who persevere and grow every day, to faculty who teach with rigor and purpose, and to staff who support each learner’s journey. Together, this community has built an academic environment worthy of national recognition.
What this recognition represents
Being chartered into Alpha Beta Kappa affirms that SABER College’s academic programs meet rigorous standards of quality and integrity. These include Professional Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant, Medical Assisting, and the Online ESOL Program. Across all areas of study, SABER emphasizes academic rigor, hands on training, and the development of professionals guided by responsibility and compassion.
“This distinction reflects the collective dedication of our entire institution, our students, our faculty, and our staff,” said Josefina Bonet, Chief Executive Officer of SABER College. “Alpha Beta Kappa honors colleges that do more than deliver instruction. It recognizes institutions that help shape leaders guided by integrity and purpose. Those values define who we are at SABER College.”
For the SABER community, this recognition is both an honor and a responsibility. It acknowledges what has been accomplished while encouraging the college to continue raising standards for the future.
What this means for SABER students
The Alpha Beta Kappa chapter brings new opportunities for student recognition. Eligible students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and character may be invited for formal induction into the Society. Membership offers national recognition that is valued by employers, graduate schools, and professional organizations.
Inducted students receive official certificates and medallions, may wear Alpha Beta Kappa regalia at graduation, and have their names recorded in the Society’s permanent register. These honors celebrate not only academic performance, but also perseverance, discipline, and commitment.
“For our students, this recognition goes far beyond a title,” Bonet added. “Many balance school with work, family, and personal responsibilities. Alpha Beta Kappa affirms that their effort matters and that their journey is seen and valued.”
Strengthening SABER’s academic mission
The establishment of the Alpha Beta Kappa chapter reinforces SABER College’s academic vision, particularly within its healthcare programs. In Professional Nursing, it supports the preparation of nurses who combine clinical excellence with empathy and leadership. In Physical Therapist Assistant and Medical Assisting, it highlights the importance of precision, professionalism, and patient centered care. For Online ESOL students, it underscores the transformative power of education and communication in opening doors to opportunity and confidence.
Dr. Pavel Pugh, Director of the Professional Nursing Program, emphasized the broader impact of the recognition. “Excellence in healthcare begins with strong academic foundations,” he said. “Alpha Beta Kappa reflects the standards we expect of ourselves and our students. This recognition reinforces our commitment to preparing healthcare professionals who are skilled, ethical, and ready to serve their communities.”
A shared achievement and a forward looking commitment
Founded in 1977, Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society recognizes excellence in fields essential to modern society. Its motto, Facimus, meaning We Do, aligns closely with SABER College’s hands on, purpose driven approach to education.
This induction is a shared achievement and a source of pride for the entire SABER community. It reflects what can be accomplished when students, faculty, and staff work together with a common purpose. At the same time, it challenges SABER College to continue growing, improving, and leading with integrity.
As SABER celebrates this milestone, the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Florida will stand as a lasting symbol of academic excellence, character, and service, values that continue to guide every step of the SABER journey.
