Perspective on job outlook 

Job outlooks are estimates of the type of growth that will happen within a certain time frame. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics published these estimates in a 10-year timeframe. Currently, the BLS estimates that physical therapist assistants will see 32% job growth through 2030. This is much faster than the average for all other occupations. 

The BLS also predicts that there will be 23,800 openings in physical therapist assisting every year. What does this mean for you? You will be able to search for jobs and find open positions. This is good news for anyone who is seeking employment as a physical therapist assistant. 

What do physical therapist assistants do? Well, PTAs work under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist. PTAs will get to help patients with some of the exercises, observe and take notes on progress, and educate patients and their families. 

The median pay for PTAs is $49,970 per year, or $24.02 an hour. Entry-level physical therapist assistants may make a little less than the median pay but can work their way up to higher salaries with more experience. Some facilities may also begin at higher salaries. It will vary by location. 

Prepare for your physical therapist assistant career 

You can prepare for a physical therapist assistant career at SABER College. The physical therapist assistant (PTA)  program grants you an Associate of Science in the field of Physical Therapist Assistant upon successful completion. 

After graduating from the PTA program, you are eligible to take the National Physical Therapy Examination for PTA to become a licensed physical therapist assistant. Then you can begin applying to jobs.
