Registered Nurses are needed more than ever. Hospitals and clinics have job openings for nurses to help increase patients. Nurses must be trained and certified, of course, you may be wondering how long it takes to become a Registered Nurse in Florida.

The good news is that entry-level RNs only need an associate degree! SABER College offers a Professional Nursing Program fully accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and licensed by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE). Graduates are awarded an Associate of Science degree in Nursing after successful completion.

All about the PNP

SABER’s Professional Nursing Program (PNP) trains entry-level nurses to work in various medical settings. The PNP is a full-time program with 82 credit hours of lectures, labs, and clinical.

Students gain foundational knowledge in mathematics, communication, and computers. Then students learn about the nursing profession and how to care for patients. The human body, germocology, pharmacology, and more are discussed so that students understand their patient’s needs and proper procedures.

When students graduate from the PNP, they get an AS degree in Nursing. Graduates can also sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The NCLEX is required for licensing. Without it, graduates cannot legally work as nurses.

Reach your goal in 2 years

It usually takes about two years to complete the PNP. Students immerse themselves in nursing through their studies and hands-on skills courses. Reaching that goal of an associate degree and nursing credential makes the two years in the program worth it!

You can begin your career by enrolling in SABER College’s Professional Nursing Program today. To enroll, you will need high school transcripts or proof of GED. You’ll also need to be at least 18 years old. Fill out an application, submit required documents, and pay the application fee. Then be ready to register for your classes!
